Dental Aid welcomes the opportunity to provide pre-dental school students with a hands-on experience working directly with staff dentists in one of the three clinic sites. As space is limited to accommodate all interested students, several prerequisites must be met before your request is considered:

- Proof of receipt of the Hepatitis B series
- Availability to work two half days or one full day per week
- A willingness to work at any of Dental Aid’s 3 clinics (Longmont, Boulder or Louisville)
- An interest in committing at least 3 months
- Willingness to complete tasks that are ancillary to assisting such as laundry & equipment sanitizing, etc
Clerical Assistant
Clerical volunteers are needed at all three clinics and at least a half day per week commitment is required. Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Completing Medicaid/CHP billing records
- Compiling patients charts
- Filing and/or pulling patient charts
Special Event
Volunteers are needed to assist with the following at Give Kids A Smile:
- Creating/copying fliers for the event (volunteers are needed 2 weeks before the event)
- Distributing flyers throughout Boulder County
- Helping patients with paper work the day of the event (bilingual preferable, not necessary)
- Entertaining children before their appointment (games, reading, drawing)
Invest in the wellbeing of low-income individuals and families by helping us cover their cost of care.
Medicaid does not cover all treatment needs and patients often exhaust their annual limit before their treatment plans can be completed. Basic Medicare offers no dental benefits, and many low-income patients are completely uninsured.
Contributions to our Marcie’s Fund for Children and to our Adult Assured Access Fund go directly towards patient care:
- $25 provides a child with fluoride varnish
- $50 covers the cost of an exam
- $100 covers the cost of an emergency exam or a full set of x-rays
- $250 pays for five sealants
- $500 can help a youth have her teeth straightened or an adult in need of dentures
- $1000 can mean the difference 0between a tooth-saving crown or permanent tooth loss
- $2500 provides hospital-based care for a child with extensive dental decay
- $5000 pays for 100 hours of preventive care outreach for older adults and specials needs patients
Invest in the wellbeing of our mission by helping us purchase and maintain the tools we need for providing high quality dental care.
At Dental Aid, we believe that low-income persons deserve access to the same industry standard equipment and clinical facilities as those found in private practice clinics. Contributions that give our dentists the tools they need to maximize their professional skills set are extremely important.
Equipment:
Smaller donations of $25 to $100 help us with treatment supplies like X, Y, Z and replacement parts for dental tools.
Larger donations of $250 to $2500 help pay for the purchase and maintenance of dental chairs, x-ray machines, and other heavy equipment.
Building Maintenance:
It costs a lot of money to operate three dental clinics! Help us keep the lights on with your donation of any amount. Current critical needs include new roofing for our Louisville clinic and new flooring at our Longmont clinic.
Are you a licensed dentist, hygienist or EDDA certified dental assistant?
Can you spare one day a week or a few days per month to help care for our low-income neighbors? We have opportunities for in-clinic care and community outreach preventive care.
Do you have Front Desk Dental Office experience? Your volunteer hours at any one of our three clinics will help us bridge the gap with overhead costs.
